Energy Efficiency/Heating

We can help you improve your home heating costs by installing new energy efficient windows or doors.  We can upgrade your insulation or replace your roof, both of which can result in significant cost savings. We can also install a new (or upgrade an existing) air/heat exchanger.  A heat exchanger can help keep the air in your home fresh, removing the stale air and helping to keep mould at bay.  The next step up from a heat exchanger is a heat pump which can not only keep your air quality high but also help reduce your heating costs by taking heat from the air you are removing, freshen it up and recirculate it back through your home.  A heat exchanger can also help keep your home cooler in summer.  (Newfoundland Power has a financing program that may be available to you. Worried about losing the power and not being able to heat your home?  Worry no more!  At Chester Dawe we can install a propane fireplace with a wide variety of mantels to suit the décor of your home or a propane stove to supplement your primary heat source and give you peace of mind that you will have heat should the power go out for an extended period of time. 

The garage is an often neglected area of the home.  An old garage door that does not seal properly can be a major source of heat loss.  We can install a new energy efficient door with a seal that will keep the drafts out and the heat in.

Outside the Home

In the summertime, the backyard or patio has become the focal point of entertaining or relaxing.  WE CAN HELP!  We can build a new garage or baby barn or shed for you.  We can also design a new patio or deck for you allowing you to get the maximum enjoyment from whatever space you have available.  We can even install fire pits and playground accessories to make your backyard a family friendly environment.

Need privacy?  We can install fencing, from wooden Pressure Treated fencing to chain link to beautiful wrought iron fencing.  Did you know that if you have a backyard pool in St. John’s you MUST have a fence at least six feet tall that cannot be climbed?  Our fencing department specializes in installing the appropriate fencing to protect you.  We even build dog chainlink dog pounds/runs.

At the cottage or cabin we can install our EZ Dock docking system which will last much longer than a Pressure Treated wharf and look much more pleasing to the eye.  It’s easy to haul out in the winter and put back in the water come the spring.

We can even supply culverts!  Not just for commercial applications – if you are building in an area that does not have water and sewer you may need a culvert for your driveway.

Industrial

Our Commercial department can look after your needs for washroom accessories such as stall partitions or lockers.  We have a commercial playground department to look after the needs of contractors or municipalities who have to consider the needs and liabilities of a commercial installation.  We also install Commercial Overhead doors (garage doors) from the normal residential size door to doors for aircraft hangers!  Additionally, we install dock levellers for enterprises that require unloading into a warehouse.  We can even supply culverts!
